Find answers for saving, creating, reporting harm, and building your boards on Melanin.

How do I create an account?
Tap 'Sign Up' on the home page, enter your name, email, and password, then follow the onboarding steps to set up your profile and interests.
How do I save a pin?
Hover over any pin and click the 'Save' button. You can save it to an existing board or create a new one. On mobile, tap the bookmark icon on the pin to save it to a board.
How do I create a board?
Go to your profile and tap 'Create Board'. Give it a name, optional description, and choose whether it's public or private. You can organize your saved pins into different boards by topic.
How do I upload my own pins?
Click the '+' button or navigate to the Create page. You can upload images from your device, paste a URL to import content, or create idea pins with multiple images.
Can I make my boards private?
Yes! When creating or editing a board, toggle the 'Private' option. Private boards are only visible to you and anyone you invite as a collaborator.
How do I follow other users?
Visit a user's profile and tap the 'Follow' button. Their new pins will appear in your 'Following' feed. You can also follow users directly from pin cards.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings and scroll to the bottom. You'll find the option to delete your account. This action is permanent and will remove all your pins, boards, and data.
How do I report inappropriate content?
Click the three-dot menu on any pin and select 'Report'. Choose the reason, including anti-Blackness, colorism, texturism, harassment, or stolen content, and our moderation team will review it promptly.
Is Melanin free to use?
Yes, Melanin is free to use. Create an account, save pins, create boards, and share content at no cost.

Melanin is built to protect Black and melanated creators. Reports tied to identity-based harm are reviewed against our Community Guidelines, including misogynoir, colorism, texturism, featurism, harassment, and stolen creator work.
