Cameron Arnett Tackles Supernatural Conflict in 'Soul Snatchers'

1w ago

Cameron Arnett is back on the screen and behind the camera, diving deep into the realm of spiritual warfare with his latest project. The actor and producer is leading a new supernatural suspense film titled *Soul Snatchers*, a story that brings the battle between good and evil to the forefront. This endeavor sees Arnett both starring in and producing the film, which centers on a family grappling with these otherworldly forces and the challenges they face in maintaining their unity and faith.

Known for a career spanning decades, Arnett has built his work on a foundation of strong conviction, particularly within faith-based cinema. His previous roles in films like *The Forge* and *Nefarious* have established his commitment to this genre. *Soul Snatchers* continues this theme, exploring the intricate dynamics of belief and the spiritual struggles that test individuals and families.

Arnett's journey in the entertainment industry began with early television appearances in iconic shows such as *Miami Vice*, *Star Trek: The Next Generation*, *China Beach*, and *Doogie Howser MD*. He later featured in *Single Ladies* and *Tyler Perry's Meet The Browns*. At a pivotal point in his career, Arnett reportedly stepped away from Hollywood, choosing to prioritize his values over requests to compromise his faith. He spent several years in ministry before feeling a renewed call to acting, this time with a clear purpose to use his craft to glorify God. This commitment has since defined his work, earning him recognition as an award-winning actor, director, and producer. In 2023, he received the Best Actor Award at the Christian Family Film Festival for his performance in *Unfailing Love*, and in 2024, he was honored with the International Christian Film and Music Festival's Lifetime Achievement Award.

His filmography since returning to faith-based productions includes a significant list of titles such as *I Still Believe*, *Overcomer*, *Redeemed*, *Eleanor's Bench*, *Running The Bases*, *Saved By Grace*, *Vindication*, *Angels Unaware*, *Making Him Famous*, *Tulsa*, *The Challenger Disaster*, *Champion*, *Extraordinary*, *Discarded Things*, *The Wager*, and *Order of Rights*. Arnett also made his directorial debut with *Mattie: The Discovery*.

Beyond his work in front of and behind the camera, Arnett is a global speaker. He co-founded the nonprofit organization Saving Destinies with his wife, BJ Arnett. He also initiated the Christ Over Career movement, which encourages the Church to reaffirm the Lordship of Jesus Christ in all aspects of life and work. Saving Destinies champions a mission of “ALL OF LIFE,” advocating for dignity, purpose, and safety for individuals from conception through old age, while the Christ Over Career movement is a global call for believers to keep Jesus Christ at the helm of their lives and professional paths.

BJ Arnett, Cameron's wife, brings over 40 years of experience in the arts and entertainment industry. She serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Camy Arnett Production Studios, which Cameron founded, and is a co-founder of Saving Destinies. Her extensive background includes a tenure as a former NBC 11 Alive Noonday anchor and entertainment/lifestyle reporter, in addition to hosting her own NBC special. Currently, she hosts *BJA Today* and *This Day with BJ Arnett*. Academically, BJ Arnett holds an MBA, a BA in Fashion Merchandising, and an AA in Fashion Design, and she chairs the Art and Fashion Department at Clark Atlanta University. She also manages Cameron Arnett through Proverbs 31 Management.

Camy Arnett Production Studios (CAPS), under Cameron Arnett's leadership, is dedicated to creating sound programming and providing family-friendly alternatives in media. The studio focuses on delivering principle-centered content to a broad audience and offers acting classes, media, and talent development services, with a strong emphasis on mentorship within the media, entertainment, and broadcasting fields.

The production of *Soul Snatchers* involved a partnership with director Julio Román in Puerto Rico, who also wrote the script. Cameron Arnett described the experience of filming in Puerto Rico as a fulfilling process of bringing Román's vision to life. He noted the enjoyment of networking and the comprehensive care given to the story, the crew, their families, and the actors involved. Arnett also mentioned that he has another film with Román currently in post-production, indicating a continued creative partnership.

This new project follows Cameron and BJ Arnett's recent collaboration in *The Forge*, a 2024 American independent Christian drama film directed by Alex Kendrick. Premiering on August 23, 2024, *The Forge* featured the couple portraying Joshua and Janelle Moore, a married pair of business owners who minister to their community. Principal photography for *The Forge* took place from June to July in Albany, Georgia. Reflecting on the film, Cameron Arnett stated, "The Forge is a picture into all of our lives. We've all been Isaiah, not knowing where we're going and having questions about who we are. By the grace of God, he runs into a gentleman named Joshua Moore who is mature and seasoned as a Christian." BJ Arnett added that the script resonated deeply with them because it addressed universal issues faced by many American families, regardless of their ethnicity or culture. Cameron Arnett characterized the set atmosphere as a "little slice of heaven."

Prior to *The Forge*, Cameron Arnett appeared as Trustee Styles in the 2023 Christian horror-thriller film *Nefarious*, released on April 14, 2023. This film, based on Steve Deace's 2016 novel *A Nefarious Plot*, centers on a psychiatrist evaluating a death row inmate who claims to be demonically possessed. Principal photography for *Nefarious* occurred in Oklahoma City in late 2021. The consistent thread across Arnett's recent body of work, including *Soul Snatchers*, is a steadfast dedication to faith-based storytelling that explores moral and spiritual conflicts, offering audiences narratives that resonate with profound themes of conviction and purpose.
